Rustigian Rugs carries an extensive inventory of handmade rugs and accessories primarily from India, Nepal, China, Afghanistan, Turkey, Iran and Egypt. Some rugs are “programmed” which means that they can be ordered in a variety of standard sizes. Other rugs are singular and must be viewed as “one of a kind” merchandise. We individually select each rug we offer for sale and we choose them very carefully. Some we buy for durability and others for their sheer beauty. We focus mainly on new carpets but have a small but attractive selection of antique and older rugs in our showroom.

Like all business endeavors, Rustigians has evolved over time and what we offer in our showroom today is vastly divergent from what Rusty sold in the 1970’s and prior. His offerings would have been mostly Persian or Caucasian in origin. Today, our inventory has a minimum of actual Persian rugs but the influence of these classic carpets continues to impact contemporary handmades from virtually all countries. Today, the huge carpet and rug markets in Domotex, Atlanta and New York feature rugs variously displaying old Persian patterns, Asian motifs, slick contemporary designs and just plain old texture. Rustigians strives to have its inventory selections reflect the best of today’s available design offerings. In our boutique operation there is something for everyone from the Arts and Crafts aficionado to the rococo enthusiast or the new age minimalist.

We also approach our wall-to-wall carpet department with a goal of appealing to an eclectic and sometimes adventurous customer base. We offer solids, textures and patterns. We offer plain vanilla for the customer who wishes a quiet backdrop but eagerly feature a machine loomed carpet that commands the attention of anyone entering our showroom or our customer’s home. There is a wide and ever evolving selection of plush pile wool, textured loops and complex wiltons.  And we endeavor to offer only quality carpets which wear well – if wisely and properly chosen for their intended use.  We also advise – and wisely.
